Commission Pieces Always Accepted!
Picture
In the spring of 2010, "Julia's Art Studio" was born. I started working with recycled paper and how to play with various colors and values to create an interesting composition. I love experimenting with textures... visual and tactile. Each piece is "One of a Kind!" and cannot be reproduced. Hearing what people "see" in each piece is very exciting.

Yes, my art is three dimensional on a two dimensional surface. I use either canvas board or stretched canvas for my abstract recycled artwork. Experimenting with mixed media and using recycled material is very inspirational to me as an artist and teacher. I noticed when I'm working on my own art at the high school atmosphere; my students become more aware of how and why they are using the materials supplied for their classes. Even more so when they have to purchase or find their own supplies! "Practice What I Teach" is my motto and my students see it daily in my classroom.

Tippecanoe Arts Federation was my savior at a time when I needed them. “TAF” announced the “Art Mix” show early in 2010 and I entered three pieces. Two of my pieces were accepted and one purchased! I know that “TAF’s Art Mix” show opened a door for me as a professional artist.
